HAMILTON, BERMUDA - A staff gift drive at the Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) has collected just over 150 toys and more than $10,500 in gift card vouchers, bringing holiday cheer and much-needed help to children and families in need. Gift cards included vouchers for BELCO, Lindo’s Market, The Marketplace and Gibbons Company to help families with groceries, clothing and other essential items. The drive was part of a holiday programme led by the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS).
Sherrie Walker, Family Preservation Coordinator at the DCFS, said, "We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the BMA for their generous contributions and donations this holiday season. The donations will brighten the lives of children and teens and lessen the financial burden many families experience at this time of the year. We are grateful to the BMA and its staff for bringing a renewed sense of joy and hope to families in need.”
